Abstract

Molla Sadra, because of his especial epistemological ideas about the equality of knowledge and existence, and the abstract of all forms of knowledge in the mind, the forms of sensation, imagination and reasoning, believes that the intellect and the subject and object of the knowledge are unity in the process of knowledge. He also says that in the process of cognition, soul moves from its position and be united with its forms, and in its substantial and evolutionary movement, when it perceives the universal and intellectual forms, in its reasoning position, be united with active intellect. Molla Sadra proves these theories and explains about some terms such as active intellect, unity and the quality of the relationship between the active intellect and the soul. In this essay we study them.
