There has recently appeared a new type of right called "intellectual ownership". This is frequently encountered in present-day communities in the form of the exclusive right of registry an invention, author's right, trademarks, industrial plans, business secrets and so on. Such a case of ownership is added to ownership of objects and duties toward others. Islam and its rules of obligation have considered these rights. Present-day communities try to establish laws to determine the duration, limits issue. This phenomenon is the subject matter of the present study on which authenticity, and ownership of these rights is discussed in the light of the common practice and references to Fiqh sources.
