In the last deacades of the thirteeth centry, various intellectual and social
trends were setting toward the renewal of religious thought and social reformations. One of these cultural and social movements was the association
of "the companions of the small House" in khurasan, consisting of Haj Mirza
Habib khurasani, khadiw Gilani, Fazel khurasani, Seyd Ali Khan Dargazi, Rais al- Tullab Sabzawari and some others. These companions were generally
from among the scholars and cultural elites residing in khurasan, emphasizing on reformation in religious thought and the necessity of cultural and social
reformations, along with sincere devotion to Islam and its inner concepts and abstinence from prejudice and hypocrisy. This culturl and social association
which was developed on the basis of practical gnosis and purification of soul, was condemned and suppressed by common people who were incited by the
traditional cultural and political leaders.
