Abstract

What was the result of Muslims' studies on the ontology in the previous centuries? Were they satisfied with retelling the ideas of the ancient Greek
philosophers and playing an intermediary role? or otherwise, presenting new principles and arguments, they studied and criticized the previous principles
and initiated new subjects which led to the development of philosophy. This is the main question which the present article deals with. It is evident that if the
background of the subject is clarified, the brilliant role of Muslim philosophers in its development would appear, the historical carelessnesses
would be revealed, and the causes of Muslim philosophers' disagreement on various subjects would be disclosed.
