Neglecting the terms with closely-related meanings, which leads to the
confusion of the subjects, is one of the main causes of disagreements on the
number of the Quranic abrogated verses. The early scholars of the Quranic
sciences, intentionally or negligently, ignoring the differences between such
concepts as abrogation, allocation, make sb, forget sth, determination and
exclusion, have regarded many of the Quranic verses as the abrogated ones,
The later scholars, however, disapproving it, have raised the necessity of more

contemplation on the issue, and have done thief nest. The present article is a
step toward clarifying abrogation, its real meaning and the causes of
disagreement on its number in the Quranic verses,
