Abstract

During the second, third and forth centuries, a multitude of Persian cultural, social and scientific properties found their way into the Islamic world. These elements not only influenced the


Muslims way of thinking and their social trends but, at times, they carried thier Persian names with them into the Arabic language. In this regard, jahiz treatise is a valuable document as it contains a multitude of Arabicized Persian words. In addition, it reveals the outlook of the moslems toward question of trade and commerce.
