The present article, considering the etymology of the word "Behesht" and its position
in the pre-Islamic religions, studies the various aspects of this concept in Islamic culture,
beginning with the holy Quran. Paradise in tradition besides some philosophical,
theological, and mystical matters relating to this concept are investigated afterwards
